Home for Everyone project develops new, safe and functional solutions and planning guidelines for group housing and living environments for persons with physical and/or developmental disabilities. The solutions developed and piloted in the project include, for example, an adjustable mini-kitchen, barrier-free entrances with electrical thawing, barrier-free bathroom solutions, lighting, multisensory spaces and movable office furniture. The development work is based on user feedback and experimental testing in pilot sites. The results will benefit people with developmental disabilities and also other special needs groups requiring support in their living environments. The project cluster include ten pilot sites – group housing units for persons with developmental disabilities – and ten enterprises developing and testing new solutions. The project is coordinated by Culminatum Innovation Oy Ltd, which is a publicly-funded non-profit regional development company.
